PREGNANCY GUIDANCE

Pregnancy guidance is a form of providing physical therapy where an initial evaluation is performed, a plan of care is determined, and a home exercise program is provided. This type of PT, however, can be initiated even before symptoms or pain arise during pregnancy. In pregnancy, your body is growing and changing every day, but with the help of Pelvio PT, we can stay ahead of those changes and reduce the incidence of pain or symptoms arising in the first place. We typically begin pregnancy guided PT after the first trimester.

BIRTH PREP

Birth prep services are specifically performed in the later stages of pregnancy beginning around 34 weeks. We will typically have 2-4 sessions once per week where we teach you the proper techniques for labor pain management, pushing, and safe postpartum movement. We also provide birth prep to those with scheduled C-birth plans. A C-birth does not mean that your pelvic floor won't be impacted - you still spent 9 months pregnant! - and we will review helpful and safe techniques for taking care of your baby afterward.
